Why Liverpool should want Barca in the CL this season

In the 2013-2014 season, Luis Suarez fired a resurgent Liverpool to the Champions League, fighting tooth and nail to return the club to Europes Elite after a 4 year exile.
However, on July 11th 2014, Luis Suarez departed Anfield with his head held in shame after another controversial matter. The Uruguyan number 9 headed to the Nou Camp, determined for a head start.

Both Barcelona and Liverpool are in the UEFA Champions League this season.
Liverpool, in pot 3, could face the Spanish giants, whom aremin pot 1. This, if happened could be an emotional return to a player who made such a close link to the fans, only to leave.

Brendan Rodgers would certainly be determined to beat Barcelona, to show they are bigger than one player and have moved on from Suarez.

But they haven't. Ajax haven't.

I'm gonna say it now, Luis Suarez is irreplaceable. I wrote a whole article about the matter, and you can read it if you want.
But no body can move on from the magic, work ethic and determination that comes from the player. Sometimes, this is ruined by: Biting, Rascim, more biting, and another bite.
Liverpool beating Barcelona, home or away, would not only be a sign of Intent by the Merseyside reds, but a message to Luis.

Why this is the most exciting season for Liverpool in the past 20 years

In May 1990, Liverpool FC won they 18th (and so far last) League title. Shocked and devastated by the Hillsborough disaster 1 year before, Manager Kenny Dalglish resigned. After the formation of the FA Premier League, Liverpool failed to retain their dominance over European and English football - After all English teams were banned from European football following the Heysel disaster in 1985, the year Juventus won their second European Cup.

Manchester United then took their spot. Swifly, and not so mercilessly, now with a record breaking 20 League titles.
Liverpools greatest success so far in the Premier League era is their 2005 Champions League conquest under now Napoli boss Rafael Benitez. Benitez was sacked in 2010.

Now, under Northern Irish Brendan Rodgers the reds have returned. After a fantastic season which coincided wich the 25th Anniversary of Hillsborough, emotions ran high.

And go again they did. Beating Man City, Tottenham 5-0 away, Man Utd 3-0 etc…..
But they fell at the final hurdle.
Now, on the eve of the 2014-2015 season Luis Suarez edges ever closer to Barcelona, and more young, talented players are joining the side.
This is a revolution. This is Liverpool.

Belgian Star has visited Melwood - Why Divock Origi is one for the future

At 19 years of age, Divock Origi announced himself on the world stage after netting a late winning goal for Belgium against Russia in their World Cup group match. Before this, many people had never heard of the young forward.

Born in Belgium, Origi joined Genk's youth team as a child. In 2010 at the age of 15, Origi moved to Lille in France, where he would make his first team debut and become the youngest player to score over 10 goals in Ligue 1 in one season. With that said, it is no wonder that a dozen English Premier League clubs have been watching his progress in Brazil. 

The Metro reported that Origi appeared at Liverpool’s training ground, where it is thought he met staff members and the first team before they departed for the United States to undertake their pre-season preparations.

His goal-scoring accolades have also been spotted in North London, specifically by Tottenham Hotspur. After a rollercoaster season, they will be looking for a consistent striker to lead their frontline, as Roberto Soldado continues to struggle in front of goal and the inconsistent Emmanuel Adebayor doesn't perform.

Despite this, the Belgian star appears to have chosen Anfield as his preferred destination, although Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers could loan him back to French outfit Lille.

Divock Origi is a rough diamond, and hopefully he can be made into a diamond of world class quality.  If anyone can do this, it is Brendan Rodgers.

Adam Lallana not guaranteed starter for Liverpool - Why he needs to fight for his spot

Adam Lallana was a key player for Southampton last season, continuing the resurgence of the south coast club after they returned from the third tier of English football back to the Premier League. At Liverpool, however, the 26-year-old can expect to fight for his place with several young stars.

The likes of Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho, two attacking players who can play in the middle and on the wing, will be vying for the same position as the former Saints man. This is a good problem for Brendan Rodgers, who likes players to be able to play different positions.  The increased competition may not be so good for some of the Liverpool squad, though, who will now need to fight hard for their places.

The players last season had a comforting thought that nobody could replace them because the Reds’ bench was weak, as it included the likes of on-loan flop Victor Moses and Iago Aspas, who both struggled to make an impact. It is evident that the bench is now being beefed up, with Lallana's former team-mate at Southampton Rickie Lambert and defensive midfielder Emre Can being brought in. Lambert may be getting on a bit, but he still knows where the net is having scored 13 Premier League goals last season, whilst the young German Can has been compared to Bastian Schweinsteiger. Both players are clearly ready to fight their way into the starting lineup.

It will be interesting to see who misses out on the opening day of the season when the Reds take on Southampton at Anfield. What we do know is that Liverpool are fast becoming an exciting team, with the signing of Adam Lallana only the beginning of their evolution.

Suarez edges to Barca - Why he is irreplaceable at Anfield

Following the aftermath of the biting scandal from a heated World Cup group match, the Metro are reporting that Luis Suarez may be leaving Liverpool after all. The powers that be at Anfield must have been shaking their heads after everything they had done for the Uruguay international, beginning when he was accused of racially abusingManchester United full-back Patrice Evra and also including his bite of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

As Suarez’s reported move to Barcelona earns Liverpool between £60 million and £70 million from the Catalonia giants, there will always be a hint of regret regarding the whole situation. After all, where else will you find a player who can play a Premier League side three times and score three consecutive hat-tricks against them? His will and determination cannot be trained; it is conditioned from birth and enhanced by experiences. Although the Reds currently have him, Suarez looks set to move to La Liga to join Messi, Neymar and Iniesta.

Liverpool’s number seven has been fraught with controversy in his three-and-a-half-year spell at the Merseyside club. However, everything was overshadowed by what the player did for Liverpool in the 2013/14 season. Suarez instead became a 31-goal striker, PFA players’ player of the year, PWA player of the year, FTBpro player of the year and more.  For that reason, his overall ability and football brain can never be forgotten at Anfield.

Liverpool fans look set to be left with stories of what could have been if he had stayed at Anfield, despite his four-month ban. But the deal isn't done yet, and many will be hoping it stays that way and that Luis Suarez is a Liverpool player for another season. Unfortunately for the Reds, the hope that there could be more good memories to be made with the Uruguayan next season could be extinguished very soon.

Serbian Winger to Anfield - Why Lazar Markovic is perfect for Liverpool

According to ESPN, Benfica’s 20-year-old Serbian winger Lazar Markovic is expected to undergo a medical atLiverpool after a fee of around £25 million was recently agreed between the two clubs. For someone so young, he has an excellent eye for goal and has a good amount of European experience.  The fact that Brendan Rodgers is willing so spend so much money on the youngster is evidence of his quality. 

Markovic found the net 13 times in 46 appearances for Partizan Belgrade before making the switch Portugal. He moved to Benfica in 2013, becoming a key part of their Primeira Liga-winning team and their charge to the 2014 Europa League final, where they suffered a cruel defeat to Sevilla on penalties.

The Serbia international can vary his play in different situations, meaning he would provide the versatility that the Liverpool boss craves so much. His natural pace and flair scares defenders, as well as his ability to change the game with the flick of a ball. Having Markovic on one side and Raheem Sterling on the other can result in good things for the club, and is a mouth-watering prospect for a team undertaking their first Champions League campaign since the 2009/2010 season.

Brendan Rodgers is sure to add to his squad over the summer, with a list of original transfer targets being added to by players shining at the World Cup.  Exactly who the Reds get is yet to be determined, but one thing for certain is that Lazar Markovic would be a perfect addition for Liverpool.
